Smartgroup Update fails with "no such object on server"

Have an issue with a single smartgroup.

When trying to update it, it goes through all the steps successfully, then fails at the end:

 

X users found against criteria

Updating members against criteria

Shutting down script service

Shutting down script service

There is no such object on the server (Exception from HRESULT: 0x80072030)

Failed

 

The group exists.  And GroupID (at least the console) can see it.  For example I can use the GroupID console to move the group from one OU to another... so puzzled as to what is going on here

Anybody else seen anything similar?

  I am seeing this error on our instance as well. @Support: It would be helpful to post the solution as part of this thread in conjunction with creating a ticket.
